She was from a Pureblood family that uphold traditions, and anyone could tell the moment they saw her. While Daphne did enjoy time with her family to a degree, she preferred to be with her friends or a good book. With her parents she was always the good child. Never acted out in rebellion, until they wanted her to join Voldemort. Daphne respected her parents in a way Astoria never seemed to. She prefered the night. After Hogwarts Daphne slept all day and was awake all night. She found a sense of peace in the moonlight. Her personality was sort of the same. Still, dark with some shining spots. But now, it's years later. Daphne is a natural blonde, with dazzling blue eyes that seem to just pop out of her head. She is 5’7” and 120lbs. Daphne has tried hard to keep her body slim and in shape after being a mother. And it was easy at first, she was depressed over the loss of Theo that Daphne never ate. So all of the baby weight just flew off of her. But when she shaped up, Daphne realized she couldn’t starve herself to death, she had a baby to take care of. Don’t let this pretty face and slim body throw you off. Daphne is horribly shy to the point of speechlessness. She doesn't like to speak in crowds, she doesn't like to be in crowds. She is very much a homebody. But don’t let the shy act get to you either, when Daphne is at home, she is full on mother. She loves to be silly with Caprice and laugh and have fun with her. Daphne’s first mission in life is to raise Caprice the best she can. While having fun, she also teaches her daughter what tutors never could. Caprice was turning out to be just like Daphne became after having her, she could care less of blood status. In Caprice’s eyes, all people are the same. There are only good and bad people. Personal History: It was a Friday night in June of 1980, Casper and Faye Greengrass were at home having a quite supper. The couple had been talking about the birth of the Malfoy heir. They were pleased for their good friends to give birth to a healthy baby boy, and the Greengrass’ hoped the same would come true for them in a month’s time. Faye was eight months pregnant and drawing closer to her due date every day. The couple discussed how the Dark Lord would receive their child; he seemed to welcome Draco very well. Faye had dropped her glass of wine and reached for her stomach. In a matter of minutes, the couple was in the best room of St. Mungo’s Birthing Ward. Faye had gone into labor, without any clue as to why. Faye struggled for hours trying to push her baby out. Finally, just a few minutes before midnight, Faye gave her last push. The Greengrass heir was born, healthy and beautiful in the still of the night. The new mother held her child close as she gazed upon her child. The new father stood above the two, wondering why fate had let him down. It wasn’t usual for a female to be born as the first child of the Greengrass line. Casper didn’t know what to think. He had planned for a boy that he could offer to the Dark Lord’s service, and instead Fate had granted him a baby girl with no way to try for a boy. Due to complications during the birth, Faye was advised to not have another child, it was too much of a risk, and the cost was her life. The little blond baby had a Death Eater Father, a Doting Mother, her own wing of the house as a nursery complete with a full staff of 14; Nanny, Nanny’s Assistant, Bathing Attendant, Feeding Attendant, Dressing Attendant, Dressing Attendant’s Assistant, Play Attendant, Play Attendant’s Assistant, Clean-up Crew of five, and Walking Instructor. As Daphne grew up, some of the staff was replaced with tutors, and some were let go all together. Daphne was taught proper education and magic at a young age. Daphne’s Father was a Death Eater, and moving full steam toward the inner circle. Though Casper had learned to love his child despite the unexpected gender, Casper never saw much of his daughter. When he would arrive home long after Daphne was put to bed, he would always visit her while she slumbered. Casper often commented that Daphne seemed to radiate beauty the most during the night. Daphne’s Mother was doting, and she always spent time with Daphne every morning, afternoon, and night. Faye would be there to greet her daughter before breakfast, and would always be the one to tuck Daphne in to bed. Daphne really took to her mother quite strongly in her younger years. The Dark Lord seemed reluctant to be as welcoming of the girl as he was of Draco. But he told the new parents if she were trained well, he might be able to use her. The parents agreed to groom their baby for the Dark Lord, despite the gender. A year and month later, the rumors of Voldemort’s end came true. The Dark Lord had fallen, and his Death Eaters went into hiding. The Greengrass family moved to Bath to escape any trials that may come their way. It was here that the family learned Faye was expecting her second child. This pregnancy wasn’t as accepted by Casper as it was by Faye. She loved being a mother, and longed-for a chance to be a mother for a second child. The pregnancy was hard on Faye. It weakened her to the point of death. Mediwitches were forced to put the mother into labor six weeks early, knowing it would be a danger to both mother and child. But the longer Faye was pregnant, the more it drained her. The baby was delivered as safely as could be under the circumstances, but Faye never fully recovered. After the new baby was born, things seemed to change in the Greengrass family. Daphne, used to being the center of attention, now had to learn to split her parents’ attention with her new sister, Astoria. The first year of Astoria’s life was opposite of the first year of Daphne’s. Casper was around for every first in Astoria’s life, but he often missed out on many of Daphne’s firsts. This wasn’t the only difference between the girls. They were as different as night and day. Daphne was a dark haired beauty while Astoria was fair haired. Daphne was quiet and gentle. Astoria was loud and forceful. When Astoria wanted something, she would throw a temper tantrum until she got it. When Daphne wanted something, she found cunning ways to get it. The elder Greengrass girl learned to hide in the shadows instead of being out in the open as Astoria did. Daphne preferred days that was full of study or reading in her spare time. Daphne was a smart child, even from the earliest age. Daphne often found solace in he company of her closest friend, Draco. Being only a week apart in age and the families so close, the two grew up being close. They had their other friends, but Daphne always seemed to feel her friendship with Draco was the safest. The night before she was to set out for Hogwarts, Daphne confided her fears to Draco. She told him how she feared being unwelcomed at the school, and unwelcomed if she were to return home. Unsorted and a shame to the Greengrass name. But that didn’t happen. Daphne was placed in Slytherin, just as generations of Greengrass’ did before her. When Daphne was in school she was the essential Slytherin Princess. She was rich, she was beautiful, and in her common room her friend Pansy was the life of the party as Daphne stayed out of the spotlight. Daphne had become good friends with her roommate, Pansy Parkinson. While the friendship between them wasn’t as strong as the friendship between her and Draco, it worked because the two girls were different enough within their similarities. Daphne still preferred to be in the shadows, and Pansy didn't. Yes, Daphne had it all. She had beauty, fortune, and surprising to her, guys. Yes, she had boyfriends all the time. She was never dumped; she dumped them; until she saw one guy in a different light. Theodore Nott waltzed into the Slytherin common room one evening like he had for the past 5 years, but for some reason, Daphne saw him in a different way. For a year Daphne hid her crush on him, and she worked on talking to him more and getting to know him. At Christmas Theo had told Daphne of his developing feelings for her, and she shared the same news with him. Their relationship carried on through the summer. Toward the end of the summer, the couple began to have sex, without any thought to contraceptives. They continued having sex while at Hogwarts, they just snuck around. No one ever knew that they were having sex, well… no one outside of the Slytherin common room. The whole house knew that the couple was having sex, and none of them said a word against it. When the Dark Lord returned, Daphne’s parents were excited for her to serve the man they raised her to believe was the man who was to solve the worlds’ problems. Daphne on the other hand, saw a lunatic on a power binge, she had once shared her opinion of the Dark Lord to Theo, and Daphne was pleased to hear he had agreed. She was glad she was not able to serve the Dark Lord until after she was finished at Hogwarts, and made plans with Theo to leave Britain the moment they got off the Hogwarts Express for the last time. But Fate was on her side. The Final Battle came to Hogwarts, and Daphne was right in the middle of it. It didn’t matter who was in her way, she fought to find Theo and get to Hogsmeade so they could disappear. Somewhere between the Castle and the Quidditch field, Daphne caught sight of her parents fighting. Astoria was behind them, throwing hexes at the opposite side. Daphne watched as first her mother fell, caught by some random curse. Then her father fell, bested by one of the Weasley twins’ of all people. Her cry caught Astoria’s attention. The two locked eyes right before Daphne’s back erupted in fire. A slash hex grazed her back, making Daphne fall to the ground in pain and watched as Astoria ran away. She never got up, she never found Theo. She just laid there until the last spell crossed the sky. Since Daphne couldn’t be connected to the Dark Lord, she wasn’t put to trial. Daphne left all of her inheritance behind when she left England. Daphne stuck to the plans she had made with Theo. She went to Rome, Italy and found a flat to stay in with the money they had saved up. Daphne hoped that he would meet her there soon. But he never showed, and the time she spent waiting resulted in a big surprise. Daphne was pregnant. Due just after the New Year. Daphne didn’t know what had ever happened to Astoria. She heard rumors, but she didn’t see her sister ever again. Daphne once sent her a letter, hoping the owl would be able to find her sister. But it returned, letter still attached to its leg, unopened. She never tried to make contact with anyone from her past, even going so far as to deny all attempts of contact from anyone who wasn’t Theo. That cold winter, Daphne went into labor. That cold January night in 1998, Daphne gave birth to beautiful blonde baby girl. Daphne held her daughter as she thought of the people she had lost just months earlier. She cried, promising her daughter that she would never have to go through what Daphne had to. She named the baby girl Caprice Faye Greengrass, and she raised her all by herself. She didn’t get tutors for her daughter to teach her how to be proper, Daphne taught Caprice manners. In January 1999, Daphne moved back to England and got a job as a secretary for a muggle in an office near the Ministry of Magic. She worked with a group of ladies who didn’t mind Daphne bringing in Caprice. Her boss even loved having the baby there. Daphne was very comfortable in the office with the ladies she worked with. When she was with her daughter, Daphne was always cheerful and fun. She loved her daughter with all of her heart, and she didn’t want to do wrong by her. Daphne loved watching her daughter sleep, as her father had years before, unbeknown to her. Daphne and Caprice grew close to each other. Daphne was Caprice's best friend until Caprice was off to Hogwarts. It was then that Caprice met other friends and Daphne was replaced, much to her displeasure. But Daphne was thrilled Caprice was more open than Daphne ever had been at Hogwarts. On the eve of her 50th birthday in 2030, Daphne was sitting down at her vanity staring at herself in the mirror. Daphne was thinking of Theo before she suddenly reached for her chest. Fate had destined for her to be alone, without family and without Theo. Her parents died fighting for a madman, her sister ran from her when she was in pain. Theo never sought her out. Her last thought before her life was stolen from her was of her daughter. Daphne wished she could tell her father was Theodore Not. Instead she took that knowledge to her grave, where she would forever be alone, cold as night.
